Choosing self-pay for therapy can offer a level of flexibility, privacy, and personalization that isn’t always possible when using insurance. Some clients find that self-pay allows for:
Greater privacy and confidentiality
Insurance requires a mental health diagnosis and access to aspects of your treatment. With self-pay, your care remains between you and your therapist—without the need to share information with a third party.
More flexibility in your care
Sessions aren’t limited by insurance requirements. This means we can move at your pace, adjust frequency as needed, and tailor our work in a way that best supports you—rather than what is dictated by a plan.
No required diagnosis
Therapy doesn’t have to begin with something being “wrong.” Self-pay allows space for growth, processing, and support without needing to assign a diagnosis for coverage purposes.
Greater choice in therapeutic approach
We’re able to integrate approaches that best fit your needs—such as attachment-focused work, parts work, somatic therapy, or EMDR—without restrictions on what is considered “medically necessary.”

Walk & Talk Therapy is offered at a self-pay rate of $155 per session.
In-office therapy sessions are $175 per session.
Walk & Talk sessions provide a different therapeutic setting and structure than in-office work. While still grounded in the same clinical care and attention, outdoor sessions do not offer the same level of privacy or access to in-office therapeutic tools (such as EMDR equipment, sand tray, or other somatic resources).
Because of these differences, Walk & Talk Therapy is offered at a slightly adjusted rate.
At this time, insurance providers have not expanded coverage to include therapy conducted outside of a traditional office setting. Walk & Talk sessions are therefore available for self-pay clients only.
If you’re currently using insurance for in-office or virtual sessions, we can check in together about whether incorporating occasional Walk & Talk sessions feels like a good fit, and how to structure that in a way that feels supportive and sustainable for you.
**Walk and Talk Sessions will need to be within a 2-mile radius of the office
